Midwinter Update...

Biggest book news: I've succeeded in getting one of my poetry books (King Arthur's Raid on Hell) on the Amazon Kindle store through Lulu. Hopefully the rest of my books will follow over the next couple of months. Smashwords, as much as I like some of their features, has been a total failure in that regard despite two years of unkept promises; apparently Amazon will only take ebooks from them that are already big sellers, which sort of defeats the purpose of the exercise for indies like me. I'm moving the poetry first, since it's never sold much there, but the novels should follow early next year. In the meantime, take a look at King Arthur's Raid.

Oh, and Happy Solstice / Merry Christmas / every other pertinent season's greeting!!!

November update...

A couple of new books since I've posted here much, both available through my lulu store. Mac Criomthann Tales contains four short stories about the protagonist of The Druid's Son later in his life. Songs of Wales is a collection of all my previously published Welsh themed poetry, plus a few new pieces. Thought I'd put this up now as Lulu is currently having a sale - save 30% on all softcover books and 50% off all hardcover books using Code: FLASH30 or HC50. The offer ends November 24th. If you haven't looked at my lulu store before, check it out - I have things there you can't get through Amazon, including hardback versions of all my novels.

St. Dwynwen's Day

I'll be celebrating this with the Colorado Welsh Society today. To go with it, a short poem I wrote some years ago about the fate of Dwynwen's rejected lover...

Maelon

Waves are breaking along the shore
– cold, cold my rememb’ring –
Never I’ll see her nor touch her more
– cold now and lonely my bed.

Waves are breaking across the bar
– cold, cold my dissembling –
Safe she lives now on her island afar
– cold are my hopes that are fled.

Waves are breaking upon the rock
– cold, cold my rememb’ring –
Cruel was my vengeance, bitter her shock
– cold is a passion that’s dead.

Waves are breaking upon the sand
– cold, cold my dissembling –
I live alone in a populous land
– cold is the penance I’ve bred.

Waves are breaking upon the sod
– cold, cold my rememb’ring –
Dwynwen my love lives married to God
– I lie alone and unwed –
Cold now and lonely my bed.
